About Boreal Lab
One industry at a time.
Built around how yours works.
Boreal Lab is a Canadian venture studio building vertical AI software for industries that have been underserved by technology. We go deep into one industry, build software that fits exactly how it works, then move to the next.
Why we exist
Most software is built for everyone, which means it's optimized for no one.
A dispatch board built for a tech company looks nothing like what an LTL carrier actually needs. A clinical documentation tool designed for American hospitals doesn't fit a Canadian physiotherapist's workflow.
The industries that keep Canada running — trucking, healthcare, trades — have been handed horizontal software that almost fits. We build software that fits exactly. Narrow scope, deep execution, real operators in the room while we build it.

Asad
Founder, Boreal Lab
Boreal Lab came out of a decade working in Canadian LTL trucking. Before starting the studio, Asad co-founded a Canadian LTL carrier and spent years managing dispatchers, drivers, trailers, and the daily friction of running a small carrier in Ontario.
That experience surfaced a pattern that goes far beyond trucking: the people doing skilled, essential work spend a growing share of their day producing documentation — proof, notes, records — with software that was never built for how their work actually happens.
Boreal Lab's current flagship comes straight from that observation. FleetOS gives small LTL carriers a focused dispatch and detention-recovery operating layer — now in a controlled pilot. Northern Scriberemains an early exploration into clinical-documentation workflows for Canadian allied-health teams, not a publicly launched product.
Boreal Lab is the studio built to keep finding those gaps.

Logistics
FleetOS
Dispatch and detention billing recovery platform for independent Canadian LTL carriers. Connected dispatch email can create loads, FleetOS flags detention for review, and a dispatcher confirms time-sensitive customer notices before sending.

Northern Scribe
Early workflow exploration around clinical documentation for Canadian physiotherapists and allied-health teams. It is not publicly launched.
